He was the foundation of our family. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 40 years, retiring in 1981.
He served as a Volunteer Firefighter for the Northern Tazewell Fire Department for 5 years, and was their trustee for 12 years.
He was a hard working man, who ALWAYS put family first. He ALWAYS made sure all of us had what we needed, and made sure his family was taken care of.
He was our foundation and provider, and we will miss him FOREVER!

Today we have gathered, at a moment of sorrow,
wondering deep inside, how we'll get through til tomorrow.
At a time of grief, sadness, and pain,
We look to you Lord, for we know that you reign.
We've lost a BIG part of our family,
we all know now, it just had to be.
the Lord knew he was tired, no cure meant to be,
he whispered down softly, "John- please come with me".
When someone so close, passes away,
we hurt, we ache, and then we must say.
His heart has stopped beating, he took his last breath,
his time here was wonderful, it ended in death.
For tears that will be shed, now that he's gone away,
we'll cherish his memory, in our hearts it will stay.
He provided so much, it came from his heart,
He's been taken away, we'll never ever be apart.
We'll remember you sadly & honor your name,
it was NEVER for the money, honor or fame.
A Husband, a Father, a friend 'til the end,
Some time soon in Heaven, we'll see you again!
We Miss You!!
As we reflect on the date we lost you, we can ALL be proud to be your family. You did SO much for us while you were here, and we will NEVER ever stop loving you.
As your family, we cherish all the fond memories we have- the ways you always looked out for us, but yet provided for us. We cannot wait for that day, when we are reunited once again.

Although I didnt get to see him that often, all my memories of him are of happy times. I remember being really little and eavry time I would see him he would give me Nila Wafers. It may not seam like much but it put a smile on my face and seeing me smile he smiled back. Now every time I have a Nila wafer I think of him. He was a good man and I will miss him forever. But I know he is up in heaven smiling down on us, and one day i will see him again. I love you Grandpa Rodcay.

My Hero, my Father
Throughout my life, he was ALWAYS there with the answer to my questions. He always had the right answer, and always was willing to help out any way he could.
He was unique, and a one of a kind man. He was truely the foundation of our family, for he always put us first.
He will be greatly missed, and I will FOREVER be proud to carry on his name.
